About the position

The UI/UX Designer Intern position at Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) offers an exciting opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in user interface design and user experience optimization. Interns will work closely with a diverse team to create customer-focused digital user interfaces for various vehicle features, contributing to market-leading solutions. This internship is designed to align with DTNA's core values and may lead to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, documentation, and debugging process of the user interface to optimize user experience.
• Articulate, develop, and model the end user experience, including the visual design of applications to ensure user interaction is simple, efficient, and consistent.
• Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by participating in usability testing and user research, interpreting analytics data.
• Embrace Design Thinking methodology in projects to deliver thoughtful design solutions.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of designers, UI/UX experts, feature owners, project teams, and developers across multiple countries.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's/PhD Program from an accredited college/university or graduated within the last 12 months.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Expertise in Figma, Sketch, or XD.
• Familiarity with the Design Thinking process.
• Experience with 3D design tools.
• Passion for the automotive industry (preferred).
• Programming experience (preferred).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills.
• Creative mindset.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
