About the position

NTT DATA Services is seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia. This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience and interface design for our customer-facing commercial card products. As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process, collaborating closely with product managers, business analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that our products meet user needs and business goals. You will conduct user research to gather insights that inform your design decisions, creating wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to effectively communicate your concepts. In this position, you will provide UX direction throughout the development, testing, and refinement of prototypes. Your responsibilities will include developing user flows, information architecture, and interaction design for both web and mobile applications. You will design visually appealing user interfaces that prioritize user experience and accessibility, conducting usability testing to gather user feedback and iterating on designs to make improvements. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design is essential, as is collaborating with the development team to ensure design feasibility and implementation. You will work closely with the product team to maintain a consistent visual identity across all digital touchpoints, creating captivating and intuitive designs that prioritize user needs and satisfaction. Your designs will not only be visually stunning but will also minimize technical debt and complexities, leading to enhanced efficiency. An understanding of 508 compliance is crucial, as you will be designing accessible solutions for a diverse user base. You will present well-crafted design prototypes to client stakeholders, incorporating insights from user interviews to drive discovery and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the end-to-end user experience and interface design for new features in customer-facing commercial card products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and requirements.

  • Create designs that minimize technical debt and complexities, leading to enhanced efficiency.
  • Apply understanding of 508 compliance to design accessible solutions for a diverse user base.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand user requirements and translate them into interactive wireframes, user flows, and style guides.
  • Present well-crafted design prototypes to client stakeholders, incorporating insights from user interviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of UX design and visual UI design experience.
  • Must be US Citizen with ability to pass DHS CBP Background Investigation.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6+ years experience in the full range of product design, interaction design and visual design.
  • Familiarity with a variety of user research methodologies and how to use them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to design for any platform (iOS, Android, mobile web, desktop etc.).
  • Mastery of design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.).
  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer, preferably in building mobile apps and websites.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of UI/UX design projects and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first design principles.
  • Experience with usability testing and user research methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
