About the position

PeopleTec is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support the Chief Digital and AI Office in the DC-area, focusing on developing tools for semantic search and categorization of unstructured data. The role involves collaboration with DoD and government AI/ML Task Forces, contributing to the development of APIs, and ensuring usability across various classification levels. The designer will also be responsible for creating user-centered designs and prototypes that enhance user experience and support AI/ML tool development.

Responsibilities

• Develop a generalized tool to semantically search, summarize, and categorize unstructured data.
• Participate in DoD and government AI/ML Task Forces and share best practices.
• Extend a generalized API for semantic search and enable its use across the Department.
• Support the installation of capabilities on different classification networks.
• Develop methodology to test search performance with varying levels of prompt engineering.
• Contribute to a data operations playbook for unstructured data.
• Develop a cost model for semantic search API use cases.
• Document a strategy for ingesting and storing unstructured data on the Advana platform.
• Address issues related to semantic indices and document change management.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in UI/UX design.
• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Experience with usability testing and user research.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies.
• Experience with APIs and AI/ML tools.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Tableau.
• Familiarity with law tooling and analytics.
