About the position

We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to craft user-friendly and visually appealing internal web applications to enhance the food and beverage operations for our client. This position is full-time, remote, and a contract that renews on a semi-annual basis. As a UI/UX Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating with diverse teams to gather user requirements, understand project objectives, and align with business goals. You will develop user interface designs for web applications that support the food and beverage staff and our food waste reduction efforts. Your role will involve producing wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to clearly communicate design ideas. You will also carry out user research and usability testing, incorporating feedback to refine the designs, while upholding consistent brand and visual design standards throughout all applications. Additionally, you will guide and assist the development team through the implementation process and stay informed about UI/UX industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our offerings.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside diverse teams to gather user requirements, understand project objectives, and align with business goals
• Develop user interface designs for web applications that support the food and beverage staff and our food waste reduction efforts
• Produce wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes for clear communication of design ideas
• Carry out user research and usability testing, incorporating feedback to refine the designs
• Uphold consistent brand and visual design standards throughout all applications

• Stay informed about UI/UX industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our offerings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, or relevant field
• 4+ years of UI/UX design experience, with a preference for those who have held mid to senior-level positions
• Skilled in using design and prototyping software like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
• Agile development process experience and proficiency with project management tools such as Jira
• Strong portfolio that demonstrates a variety of UI/UX design work, specifically in web applications
• Exceptional communication and team collaboration abilities
• Creative problem-solving skills with a user-centric design philosophy

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of the food and beverage industry or related experience is beneficial
