We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Designer to upgrade the User Interface and User Experience for a Transponder Landing System Maintenance application. The primary goal of this position is to create a better 'out of the box' solution that allows Department of Defense (DOD) personnel to rapidly deploy and effectively use the system, thereby minimizing the need for extensive training. The presentation environment for this application will be Windows 11, and it is important to note that the system will not be web-accessible. The role will initially require travel for a few days during the Architecture and Design Phase, where the designer will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand the existing system. Following this phase, the position will transition to fully remote work, allowing for flexibility in work hours while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality design solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both UI and UX principles, with a proven track record of designing user-friendly interfaces that enhance user experience. In this role, the designer will be responsible for conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with developers to ensure the final product meets user needs and expectations. Attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential, as the designer will need to articulate design decisions and gather feedback from various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
