About the position

The UI/UX Developer position at Innova Solutions is a full-time contract role focused on researching, designing, developing, and testing user interfaces and experiences. The developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the technical feasibility of designs and maintain compliance with accessibility standards. This role requires a blend of design and development skills, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on high-visibility projects while creating responsive and interactive web applications.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, test, and build UX designs into the JavaScript/Java codebase.
• Act as a designer-developer, switching between design and development roles.
• Create clean semantic HTML markup that meets WCAG & ADA/508 standards.
• Provide development and support for the customer-facing design system, including new components and templates.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and architects for successful implementation of component requirements.
• Stay current on UI framework trends and suggest new tools and methods as needed.
• Design and maintain design files, wireframes, and mock-ups.
• Develop reusable and responsive interactive patterns and code libraries.
• Participate in conceptualizing and prioritizing strategies for product UX.
• Develop well-structured and maintainable code following best practices and industry standards.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Deep experience in front-end web application development with strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, React, VUE, or Angular.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager, SharePoint, and WordPress CMS is a plus.
• History of working with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AJAX and creating rich web user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, Rest API, PowerApps, Power BI, & Power Automate.
• UI/UX design or web developer certifications & training.
• Previous experience in the Electric and Gas Utility Industry.
