About the position

Cambridge Investment Research Inc. is seeking a talented UI/UX Developer to join our dynamic team in Phoenix, AZ. As a UI/UX Developer, you will play a critical role in designing and developing user-centered interfaces that enhance the overall user experience across our digital platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate user needs and business objectives into engaging and intuitive designs. Your expertise in front-end development and UX principles will drive the creation of seamless, responsive, and visually appealing interfaces. In this role, you will focus on user interaction and usability, iterating on designs based on user feedback, implementing design systems, and ensuring consistency across all products. You will balance aesthetics with functionality to deliver high-quality user experiences that align with the company's brand and goals. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications. You will create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design concepts. Additionally, you will support enterprise design, collaborate with the design team, and translate Figma designs into components within React. You will also optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design consistency and alignment with business objectives. You will embrace Agile and LeSS methodologies to deliver incremental value to our clients, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives to ensure efficient and transparent collaboration within the team. Furthermore, you will contribute to and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI pattern libraries to ensure consistency across all products, adapting designs for accessibility to ensure a positive experience for all users, including those with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces for web and mobile applications.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Translate Figma designs into components and design within React.
  • Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX Designer when conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to understand user needs and pain points.
  • Analyze user behavior and metrics to inform design decisions and improve overall user satisfaction.
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design consistency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives to ensure efficient and transparent collaboration within the team.
  • Contribute to and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI pattern libraries to ensure consistency across all products.
  • Adapt designs for accessibility, ensuring that all users, including those with disabilities, have a positive experience.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Developer, Front-End Developer, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in front-end development languages and frameworks such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and come up with new ideas for product features.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile and LeSS methodologies.
  • Familiarity with usability testing and user research techniques.
