About the position

As an Experience Designer at Booz Allen, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience across various digital platforms and applications. Your primary focus will be to understand the needs of users and translate those insights into engaging and intuitive designs. You will collaborate closely with other UX developers and stakeholders to ensure that the design aligns with the clients' vision and meets the users' expectations. This position requires a creative mindset and a strong understanding of user-centered design principles, as you will be involved in the entire digital creative process, from creating personas to developing wireframes and designing websites. In this role, you will work within an agile team, allowing you to build your skills in designing large-scale digital experiences that are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-friendly. Your expertise in tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and Sketch will be essential in advocating for design-centered changes and improvements. You will be responsible for creating wireframes, low and high-fidelity mock-ups, and click-through prototypes that adhere to visual media design principles and best practices. Your ability to apply web accessibility and usability standards will be critical in ensuring that the products you design are accessible to all users. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UX developers to understand client vision and user needs.
  • Design large-scale digital experiences that are intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Create personas, wireframes, and website designs as part of the digital creative process.
  • Advocate for design-centered changes and improvements based on user feedback.
  • Develop wireframes, low and high-fidelity mock-ups, and click-through prototypes.
  • Apply best practices for web accessibility and usability in design work.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience using web design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, or Figma.
  • 5+ years of experience applying best practices for improving web accessibility and usability.
  • Ability to develop products for front-end development and web applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience researching or implementing 18F U.S. Web Design Standards Framework.
  • Experience implementing industry standards for user experience methodologies.
  • Experience developing in a cloud-based DevOps environment.
  • Experience with business workflow tools such as Jira.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
