About the position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a UKG Payroll Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning and Operations (IP&O). This role is crucial for maintaining the data integrity of all employee records within the IP&O workforce management system. The UKG Payroll Specialist will report directly to the Business Manager of Payroll and Business Services and will play a vital role in supporting all university departments that utilize the IP&O workforce management system platform. The responsibilities of the UKG Payroll Specialist include periodic reconciliation of employee records, absence balances, and timekeeping/payroll records. This position is also responsible for creating and delivering customized training programs and reference guides, as well as recommending internal business processes for the IP&O Payroll Unit. Additionally, the specialist will assist with weekly payroll processing and auditing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies. The role requires fostering a work environment that promotes customer service and positive interactions among university staff across the system. This position is essential for ensuring that payroll processes are executed smoothly and that all employee records are accurate and up-to-date. The UKG Payroll Specialist will be a key point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and will work closely with various departments to ensure that payroll operations align with the university's goals and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for periodic reconciliation of employee records, absence balances, and timekeeping/payroll records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience related to payroll processing.
