About the position

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a UKG Payroll Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning and Operations (IP&O). This position is crucial for maintaining the data integrity of all employee records within the IP&O workforce management system. The UKG Payroll Specialist will report directly to the Business Manager of Payroll and Business Services and will play a key role in supporting all university departments that utilize the IP&O workforce management system platform. The responsibilities of the UKG Payroll Specialist include periodic reconciliation of employee records, absence balances, and timekeeping/payroll records. This role also involves creating and delivering customized training programs and reference guides, as well as recommending internal business processes for the IP&O Payroll Unit. Additionally, the specialist will assist with weekly payroll processing and auditing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies. A significant aspect of this position is to foster a work environment that promotes customer service and positive interactions among university staff across the system. This is a full-time position with an annual salary range from $69,031 to $105,722, depending on experience and qualifications. The role is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and requires a minimum of 37.5 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team dedicated to supporting the university's mission and enhancing operational efficiency within the IP&O division.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience related to payroll processing.
