About the position

The Ultrasound Technician position at Valley Health is a vital role within the high-volume outpatient diagnostic center, specifically supporting breast imaging services. This position requires a strong background in breast ultrasound and breast biopsy procedures, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. The Ultrasound Tech will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, producing high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with established department scanning protocols, and working under the general supervision of a Radiologist. In this fast-paced and rapidly growing environment, the Ultrasound Technician will rely on their expertise, professionalism, and collaborative skills to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and staff. The role demands a commitment to accountability and attention to detail, as well as the ability to operate all equipment utilized within the scope of sonography. Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures for breast imaging services.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images according to department protocols.
  • Interact with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in ultrasound imaging.
  • Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment effectively.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Sonography program.
  • At least 2 years of clinical diagnostic ultrasound experience preferred.
  • ARDMS Certification in at least one specialty required.
  • BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) from an AHA approved provider required.
  • Additional RDMS certification as per department accreditation guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in breast ultrasound and breast biopsy procedures.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology related to ultrasound diagnostics.
  • Competence in performing all types of general ultrasound procedures.
