About the position

The Ultrasound Technologist at Mercy Hospital Berryville is responsible for performing ultrasound procedures independently, utilizing technical skills and judgment to provide sonography examinations for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures at a technical level without constant supervision.
• Utilize independent judgment to supply prescribed sonography examinations for radiographic diagnoses.
• Assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
• Evaluate images and manipulate ultrasound equipment effectively.
• Lift, move, and transport patients as necessary.
• Recognize emergency situations and adapt to stressful conditions.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of sonography or registered technologist.
• Registry eligible or possess one applicable registry with ARDMS or ARRT.
• Must achieve OB/GYN registry within 6 months of hire if applicable.
• ARDMS certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent required within 6 months of hire if applicable.
• Proficient in the use of ultrasound equipment and computers.
• Ability to evaluate images and communicate effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a hospital-based imaging environment.
• Additional certifications in related imaging fields.
