Responsibilities
- Perform quality routine and specialized ultrasound procedures.
- Recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.
- Notify the interpreting radiologist of examination findings that may require immediate clinical response.
- Troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
- Explain procedures to patients and families effectively.
- Maintain a properly organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
- 2 years of direct work experience in ultrasound procedures.
- Required certification from one of the following: RDMS, PS - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Experience in pediatric ultrasound procedures.
- Additional certifications such as RDMS, AB, OB/GYN, RVT, VT - ARDMS, RT (S) or RT (VS) - ARRT.
