Responsibilities

  • Perform quality routine and specialized ultrasound procedures.
  • Recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.
  • Notify the interpreting radiologist of examination findings that may require immediate clinical response.
  • Troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
  • Explain procedures to patients and families effectively.
  • Maintain a properly organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
  • 2 years of direct work experience in ultrasound procedures.
  • Required certification from one of the following: RDMS, PS - American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience in pediatric ultrasound procedures.
  • Additional certifications such as RDMS, AB, OB/GYN, RVT, VT - ARDMS, RT (S) or RT (VS) - ARRT.
