About the position

The Ultrasound Technologist at Transylvania Regional Hospital is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce quality images of specific body areas as directed by physicians. This role emphasizes patient care, requiring the technologist to act independently and assess emergency situations while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce quality images of designated body parts under physician orders.
  • Ensure patient care is delivered in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Assess emergency situations accurately and respond appropriately.
  • Maintain good oral and written communication skills with patients and healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
  • ARDMS or ARRT Registry in Ultrasound at time of hire.
  • Vascular Ultrasound Registry from ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI required upon hire.
  • BCLS certified.
  • Must complete required CEUs to maintain certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related profession.
  • ARDMS in multiple specialties.
  • 12 months previous experience in ultrasound.
