Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025! When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist (PRN). Our ideal candidate reports to the designated leader within the Imaging Department. As a Sonographer, you will provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and act as a resource to students, residents, fellows, and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. To help achieve our mission, you will administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients. Your ability to complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations is essential. Demonstrating safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance. Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards.
• Act as a resource to students, residents, fellows, and other technologists.
• Administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies.
• Complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations.
• Demonstrate safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols.
• Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Diploma from certified school of Radiology.
• Current RDMS license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Sonographer and acute care experience preferred.
• Breast and Vascular registry preferred.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, regulatory or accreditation requirements.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR).
• Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
