About the position

The Ultrasound Technologist at Mark Twain Medical Center plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care through the use of advanced ultrasound technology. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and clinical knowledge to perform diagnostic scans and tests, ensuring accurate evaluations for physicians and radiologists. The technologist is expected to uphold the core values of Dignity Health while actively participating in the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic quality scans and tests to demonstrate presence or absence of disease.
• Monitor progress of fetal growth and perform interventional procedures such as aspirations and biopsies.
• Conduct non-invasive vascular exams for evaluation by attending physicians and radiologists.
• Participate in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health and demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
• Work independently and participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• One year experience in ultrasound capacity (including school experience).
• Current ARDMS Certification in General Ultrasound Technology.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• Working knowledge of ultrasound QC requirements.
• Thorough understanding of basic anatomy.
• Full working knowledge of ultrasound equipment, scan methods, and clinical conditions in abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular sonography.
• Knowledge of ultrasound physics and cardiovascular hemodynamics.
• Demonstrated skill in using multiple types of ultrasound equipment and transducers to obtain optimal scans and tests.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of Windows-based computers and software.
