About the position

The position involves performing diagnostic procedures utilizing ultrasound for the diagnosis of disease processes and the delineation of both normal and abnormal anatomy, as well as pathological conditions in various areas of the human body. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skill levels in the area of expertise to ensure the production of high-quality images and the safe operation of ultrasound equipment. The individual will also be responsible for providing excellent patient care and creating an environment where customers feel valued and respected.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment effectively to produce quality images.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skill levels in the area of expertise to ensure production of high-quality images.
• Performs correct exams on the correct patients.
• Follows the PACS and Meditech workflow.
• Consults with the radiologist on duty to assure correct scanning parameters when necessary.
• Provides excellent patient care and creates an environment in which customers feel valued and respected.
• Demonstrates a caring and interested manner.
• Effectively communicates and problem-solves with customers.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality at all times.
• Follows all department team expectations.
• Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably.
• Applies Lean principles and participates in Lean Board.

Requirements

• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within one year of completing the ultrasound program.
• New Graduate or 1 year of general radiology experience required.
• Sonography and pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and alternate shifts.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sonography and pediatrics.
