About the position
The UM Coordinator position at Medica Talent Group is a temporary role focused on gathering and managing information related to utilization management and prior authorization within a healthcare setting. The coordinator will be responsible for assessing member needs, participating in care planning, and resolving complex issues that arise during the care process. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Gather relevant information for the identified member population during assessment and care planning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings and transitions of care.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues independently as they arise.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Utilization Management and Prior Authorization.
- Prior experience working in a clinic or healthcare call center.
- Knowledge of prior authorization and case management regulations governing Medi-Cal, Commercial, Medicare, CCS, and other government and commercial programs.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a managed health care environment, preferably IPA, HMO, or Health Plan.
- Experience working with an ethnically diverse population.
