About the position

The Host at Umi Sushi plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, serving as the first and last point of contact during their dining experience. This position involves greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements while maintaining high standards of customer service as outlined by Pechanga Resort and Casino's Four Diamond Service Agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Check reservation books, call reservations and confirm, take reservations accurately
  • Greet every guest upon arrival or on the phone with a smile and professional greeting
  • Assign guests seating in accordance with table and stations rotation
  • Control waitlist and reservations sheets for each shift
  • Walk each guest/party to table in a pace that is appropriate for the guest, pull out chairs for ladies, hand out menus
  • Wish guests a pleasurable dining experience
  • Perform assigned cashier duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Policies
  • Count and verify all cash exchanges to outlet servers and guests
  • Process guest charges including credit cards, room charges, comps, discounts and cash payments
  • Reconcile and complete all required daily reports
  • Make change or exchanges for internal customers (team members)
  • Assist in the preparation of daily bank deposits
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • At least one year experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Fluent English speaking, writing and comprehension skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with American money and weight measurement
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Class 'A' gaming license
  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Food Handlers Certificate
  • Must qualify to obtain and maintain a Tips Certification
