About the position

As an Uncrewed Systems Robotics Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will play a pivotal role in the research and development of robotic and unmanned systems across various operational domains and mission areas. This position requires you to function at the intersection of software and hardware, where you will design, build, test, and demonstrate innovative robotic capabilities that address complex client challenges in areas such as sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. You will leverage your advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to intricate problems, working independently while also mentoring and supervising team members to foster a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will include conducting robotics engineering work, which encompasses implementing software and control schemes, integrating or repairing hardware components like actuators and sensors, and testing their functionality and operation. You will be expected to have a solid understanding of the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and support functions of uncrewed and autonomous vehicles. Additionally, you will be tasked with building, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, documenting their designs, and making necessary modifications to improve performance. In this role, you will also be involved in the detailed design and production of uncrewed underwater vehicles, ensuring that they meet specified performance requirements. Your expertise in using design, modeling, and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks, or MagicDraw will be crucial. You will derive and populate state space models of vehicle dynamics, pose, and forces, and manage coordinate reference frame transformations and translations, including Body to NED. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree. A Secret clearance is mandatory for this role, as you may be required to access classified information.
