As an Uncrewed Systems Robotics Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the research and development of robotic and unmanned systems across various operational domains and mission areas. This position requires you to function at the intersection of software and hardware, where you will design, build, test, and demonstrate new robotic capabilities that address complex client problems in areas such as sensing, autonomy, and human interaction. You will leverage advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, working with minimal direction while also mentoring and supervising team members. Your responsibilities will include conducting robotics engineering work, which encompasses implementing software and control schemes, integrating or repairing hardware components like actuators or sensors, and testing their proper function and operation. You will need to possess a strong knowledge of the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and support functions of uncrewed and autonomous vehicles. Additionally, you will be expected to build, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical systems, document their designs, and make necessary changes to improve functionality. The role also requires a Secret clearance, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is essential. Candidates with experience in the detailed design of uncrewed underwater vehicles based on performance requirements will be highly regarded. Familiarity with design, modeling, and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks, or MagicDraw is also beneficial. You will be tasked with deriving and populating a state space model of vehicle dynamics, pose, and forces, as well as managing coordinate reference frame transformations and translations, including Body to NED. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
