About the position

The Underground Construction Technician role at Spectrum involves working outdoors to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground infrastructure as part of a major rural broadband expansion initiative. Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair underground cables and infrastructure.
• Execute construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion.
• Operate heavy machinery and equipment for tasks such as street cutting, drilling, trenching, and excavating.
• Collaborate with a team of technicians to complete projects effectively.
• Adapt to different working environments and conditions.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of OSP underground construction/maintenance experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Understanding of outside plant construction standards.
• Attention to detail and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Physical ability to dig in various soil types and handle heavy materials.

Nice-to-haves

• Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
