About the position
The Laborer position at Southwire Company, LLC involves performing general labor tasks on job sites, including setting up and dismantling work areas, flagging traffic, and assisting operators with equipment movement. This role is essential for supporting operations in the field and ensuring safety and efficiency in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- General labor on job locations
- Set up and dismantle work site
- Flag traffic
- Signal Operators when moving equipment
- Hand digging (shoveling) entrance and exit pits along with locating existing utilities
- Comply with proper safety standards and expectations
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
Requirements
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid driver's license
- CDL Class A license required
- Able to perform safe work practices daily
- Able to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 feet
- Able to work some nights and weekends
- Strong mechanical skills
- Ability to work outdoors
- Ability to read and write English
- Pass a drug screen and background check
- Knowledge of electrical utility work preferred
- Able to stand, kneel and work in confined spaces for an extended period of time
