About the position
The Underground Miner position at Kerford Limestone Company involves operating heavy mobile equipment in an underground limestone mine. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and company policies, particularly those set by MSHA, and involves working the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy mobile equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, drills, and roof-bolters safely and efficiently.
- Abide by the Company Safety Program and Policies, including all MSHA regulations.
- Perform daily pre-and post-inspections of equipment with appropriate documentation.
- Conduct minor servicing and maintenance on mobile equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow management directions for daily tasks and project expectations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous work experience operating mobile equipment is preferred.
- Valid NE driver's license with the ability to be insurable under the company insurance program.
- Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate effective judgment in decision-making.
