About the position
We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Underground Mining Production in Salina, Utah. This role is essential for the efficient operation of our underground mining operations, where you will be responsible for various tasks that ensure the safe and effective extraction of coal and other minerals. The job requires a commitment to safety and adherence to all operational protocols, as well as the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. As an Underground Mining Production worker, you will operate and facilitate heavy machinery and excavation equipment, including shuttle cars for transporting coal and other materials. You will also perform maintenance on mining equipment, install rock bolts to stabilize excavations, and build and dismantle supports within the underground workings. This position involves working in shifts, with a schedule of 12-hour shifts on a four-on, four-off basis, allowing for both day and night shifts. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Utah and must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination as part of the hiring process. We offer competitive pay starting at $28.00 per hour, with potential raises within six months to $32.50, along with production and safety bonuses estimated at $500 per month. Responsibilities
- Operate and facilitate heavy machinery and excavation equipment.
- Operate a shuttle car to safely and quickly transport coal and other minerals.
- Perform maintenance on mining equipment and machinery.
- Install rock bolts using machinery to stabilize rock excavations.
- Build and dismantle roof and wall supports in underground coal workings.
- Transport coal and other material from the coal face.
- Operate heading, ripping and coal cutting-loading machines to remove material from working face and monitor conveyor carrying away loose material.
Requirements
- Coal Mining experience preferred.
- MSHA 32-hour Training required.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Able to work in the US.
- Completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Vocational degree (preferred).
- Excellent physical stamina.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
