About the position

The Underground Utility Locator at ByVertek LLC is responsible for performing semi-skilled activities related to Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) locating. This role involves confirming bore paths, conducting job site analyses, ensuring compliance with installation standards, and recording necessary data. The position may also include overseeing laborers and monitoring their work time, requiring good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Confirm bore path with foreman and drill operator, including walking the bore path.
• Perform job site analysis (JSA) and complete necessary paperwork.
• Ensure proper clearances for product installation per standards.
• Record the depth of the tool head as required.
• Ensure the drill head is positioned correctly at the exit pit to connect the product.
• May oversee laborers and/or crew members' work and monitor time usage.

Requirements

• 1+ years experience in locating for HDD.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Valid Driver's License (Class A CDL preferred).
• Valid DOT Health Card.
• High School diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves
