About the position

The Underground Utility Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the coordination of project activities to ensure cost efficiency, schedule adherence, document control, and quality standards. Working under the guidance of Project Managers and the Field Superintendent, this position offers opportunities to take on diverse tasks and gain comprehensive knowledge of utility construction. This is primarily an office-based role.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain detailed Excel spreadsheets.
  • Solicit quotes from vendors and adjust pricing when necessary.
  • Organize and prepare project team folders for pre-construction meetings and ongoing projects.
  • Review and analyze contracts.
  • Assist Project Managers in developing project schedules, which may include creating schedules or coordinating the preparation of CPM schedules and ensuring they are regularly updated.
  • Apply for and manage permits as needed.
  • Review project plans and specifications to ensure familiarity for bidding and project management.
  • Follow up on outstanding documents from subcontractors or suppliers.
  • Draft, submit, and track RFI's (Requests for Information), and distribute them to relevant team members.
  • Prepare and process pay applications.
  • Manage closeout documents at the completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of project management in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Capable of working independently while effectively taking direction.
