About the position

K2 Construction is seeking an Underground Utility Superintendent to lead crews on underground utility projects. The Superintendent will manage employees, equipment, subcontractors, and materials, ensuring that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to oversee project execution and maintain high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram, and lay out work for underground utility projects.
• Ensure project-specific needs are acquired prior to work starting.
• Develop a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Review project execution with crews to ensure proper adherence to plans.
• Inspect field conditions, identify problems, and implement cost-saving measures.
• Inspect work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, addressing deficiencies as needed.
• Track and capture quantities completed on the project for accuracy.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions to minimize risks.
• Plan and coordinate purchasing of materials to ensure adequate supply.
• Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Manage crew productivity to meet or exceed requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 15-20 years supervisory experience in construction.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to control and supervise groups effectively.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a Foreman (5 years preferred).
• Experience as an Underground Utility Superintendent (5 years preferred).
