As the Undersea Sensing and Effects Chief Engineer for Autonomous Undersea Systems (AUS) at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will play a pivotal role in leading the technical strategies and roadmaps for various programs. This position holds final technical authority over the design, integration, production, and installation processes necessary to meet the functional, behavioral, interface, and operational requirements of the systems we deliver. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our undersea systems are not only effective but also affordable, aligning with the operational concepts and architectures that drive our mission forward. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of undersea effectors and sensing systems, conducting mission analysis, modeling, testing, and operational execution. Your leadership will guide significant programs where you will act as the engineering lead or chief engineer, leveraging your extensive experience in the design, integration, and production of high-reliability systems. You will be expected to travel up to 25% of the time to various locations including Quincy, MA; Taunton, MA; Fairfax, VA; and Greensboro, NC, to ensure project success and stakeholder engagement. Your ability to balance technical and programmatic aspects will be essential as you navigate complex program technical issues. You will also be tasked with presenting and communicating effectively with stakeholders, negotiating solutions that meet challenging customer requirements while fostering a collaborative environment.
