About the position

The Undersea Sensing and Effects Chief Engineer will lead technical strategies and roadmaps for Autonomous Undersea Systems (AUS), holding final technical authority over the design, integration, production, and installation of systems to meet operational requirements. This role requires a strong background in undersea systems and the ability to balance technical and programmatic aspects to make informed decisions on program issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of program technical strategies and roadmaps for Autonomous Undersea Systems.
  • Hold final technical authority over the design, integration, production, and installation of undersea systems.
  • Develop effective and affordable operational concepts and solutions in undersea sensing and surveillance systems.
  • Oversee undersea mission analysis, modeling, testing, and operation.
  • Act as the engineering lead/chief engineer on significant programs, ensuring high reliability and assurance in system design and production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a Master's degree with relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of job-related experience, or 8 years with a Master's degree.
  • Top Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in designing, specifying requirements, and testing undersea systems.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with negotiation experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business aspects and strategic thinking.
