About the position

As an Undersea Sensing and Effects Chief Engineer for Autonomous Undersea Systems (AUS) at Trillium Professional, you will play a pivotal role in leading the technical strategies and roadmaps for various programs. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, with the option of a 9/80 work schedule, where you can enjoy every other Friday off, while working three days a week in the office. Your primary responsibility will be to hold final technical authority over the design, integration, production, and installation processes necessary to meet the functional, behavioral, interface, and operational requirements of the systems delivered by the company. This role is crucial in ensuring that the systems not only meet but exceed the expectations set forth by our clients and stakeholders. In this position, you will be expected to leverage your extensive experience in undersea systems to guide the team in developing effective and affordable operational concepts, architectures, solutions, and products. You will also be responsible for designing, specifying requirements, inspecting, verifying, and testing undersea systems and systems of systems. Your ability to balance technical and programmatic aspects will be essential in making informed decisions on program technical issues. Furthermore, your strong presentation and communication skills will be vital in negotiating and meeting challenging customer requirements, ensuring that win-win solutions are achieved. The Undersea Sensing and Effects Chief Engineer will also be involved in mission analysis, modeling, testing, and operation of undersea systems, contributing to the overall success of the projects undertaken by Trillium Professional. This role not only demands technical expertise but also a strategic mindset, as you will be expected to demonstrate ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in your approach to problem-solving and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of program technical strategies and roadmaps for Autonomous Undersea Systems (AUS).
  • Hold final technical authority over the design, integration, production, and installation of undersea systems.
  • Design, specify requirements, inspect, verify, and test undersea systems and systems of systems.
  • Develop effective and affordable operational concepts, architectures, solutions, and products in undersea systems.
  • Conduct undersea mission analysis, modeling, testing, and operation.
  • Balance technical and programmatic aspects to make informed decisions on program technical issues.
  • Utilize strong presentation and communication skills to negotiate and meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  • 10 years of related experience with a 4-year STEM degree or 8 years with a Master's degree in a STEM area.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within the facilities.
  • Experience in designing, specifying requirements, inspecting, verifying, and testing undersea systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business aspects and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Proven experience in developing operational concepts and solutions in undersea systems.
