This role is pivotal in assisting the Underwriter/Broker Senior in servicing and operational management of accounts. You will underwrite, service, and manage assigned accounts, with specific production and service goals assigned to you, which will be measured based on your attainment of these goals. Your primary responsibilities will include underwriting individual insurance applications to cover property and casualty, adhering to guidelines set for the issuance of policies on a standard or substandard basis. You will determine whether to accept, modify, or decline a risk through a thorough evaluation of the property's value, location, usage, safety features, and other pertinent information. Frequent contact with the field will be necessary to gather information that will support and defend your underwriting decisions. Responsibilities

  • Assist Underwriter/Broker Senior in servicing and operational management of accounts.
  • Underwrite, service, and manage assigned accounts.
  • Achieve production and service goals as assigned.
  • Underwrite individual insurance applications for property and casualty coverage.
  • Evaluate risks to determine acceptance, modification, or decline based on property value, location, usage, and safety features.
  • Maintain frequent contact with the field to gather information for underwriting decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
