The Commercial Lines Underwriter position at Chubb in San Francisco focuses on managing the financial performance of a mid-market multi-line commercial business. Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial performance of a book of mid-market multi-line Commercial business.
  • Achieve a new business goal of $1M each year.
  • Identify growth opportunities within new and existing production sources.
  • Develop and execute a new business growth strategy.
  • Build, maintain, and manage producer and customer relationships.
  • Develop agency strategy and goals with continual monitoring of progress.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities within commercial products and services.
  • Solicit, select, and analyze risk within Chubb Commercial Insurance guidelines.
  • Develop and negotiate price, coverage, and terms for new business and renewals.
  • Meet with producers and customers to make sales presentations and educate on products.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, operations, claims, marketing, and product management teams.
  • Collect and share industry intelligence with the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years underwriting experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of specialty commercial underwriting and insurance industry practices.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in handling commercial insurance lines.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in sales, marketing, and negotiation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external partners.
  • Experience in developing and executing marketing plans.
  • Ability to be creative and adaptable in a changing business environment.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
