The Underwriter IV position in Sports & Entertainment involves assessing large and complex risks, developing and negotiating premiums, and managing relationships with brokers and carriers. The role requires providing appropriate insurance products to clients while generating profit in alignment with company goals. This position is critical in ensuring that the underwriting process is thorough and meets the company's standards for risk assessment and management. As an Underwriter IV, you will be responsible for underwriting and analyzing new and renewal accounts, particularly for the most complex assignments. You will serve as a subject matter expert, reviewing insurance policies and assessing risks to determine the appropriate pricing, coverage, and terms and conditions. Your role will also involve bringing policies to completion by recommending and binding coverage, invoicing, and issuing policies. You will need to identify the need for additional risk assessment information, order it, and evaluate it accordingly. You will operate within defined broad limits and authority, establishing underwriting policies and procedures while providing reports to management. Building and maintaining working relationships with agencies is essential, as effective communication through broker negotiations will ensure a steady flow of new business and profitable production. You will also communicate with agents to obtain supplemental underwriting information and analyze endorsement requests. In addition to these responsibilities, you will recommend authority levels for underwriting staff and suggest amendments or enhancements to applicable programs, including coverage, policy forms, premium rate plans, underwriting guidelines, and loss control guidelines. Collaboration with internal departments will be necessary to execute the agreed program strategy and identify program opportunities. Continuous professional development is encouraged, including relevant industry and organizational education and training. You may also be required to provide training and coaching to other underwriting team members as needed. This position requires travel for client relationship building, key client/carrier meetings, and educational development, with an estimated travel requirement of 20%.
