The Underwriter - Middle Market Multinational position at AXA XL is a pivotal role that focuses on providing comprehensive foreign package and controlled master program solutions to U.S.-based multinational companies. This role is integral to the Middle Market Multinational team, which aims to deliver seamless worldwide property and casualty coverage for outward international risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and launching the Middle Market Multinational offering in conjunction with the U.S. Middle Market business, ensuring that the underwriting process aligns with the company's strategic goals. In this position, you will manage and grow a profitable book of new business while delivering best-in-class underwriting services to clients. Your responsibilities will include underwriting new business in accordance with U.S. Middle Market goals, developing and managing underwriting strategies for target accounts, and collaborating with domestic Middle Market underwriters. You will also assist in the planning and forecasting process, monitor aggregate exposure within agreed limits, and ensure that all risks written are within the agreed appetite. Building and cultivating relationships with brokers and clients will be essential, as will supporting the design and structure of programs. The role requires a self-motivated contributor who can exercise discretion and independent judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk. You will participate in roundtable discussions on risk assessment and provide mentorship and leadership to peers. Maintaining compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements is crucial, as is promoting the company's expertise by taking leadership roles in client and broker meetings.
