Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is searching for an Underwriter to join our Middle Market Property team. This is a hybrid position working 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of a profitable book of business within the designated underwriting territory for Everest Middle Market Property.
• Report to the Head of Retail Property and assist in the implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for Everest.
• Build and underwrite a diverse and profitable book of business.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with appointed brokers.
• Develop, implement, and control pricing and a risk selection standard that supports strategic objectives and achieves desired financial goals.
• Effectively work with Actuarial, Claims, Loss Control, Operations, Finance, and Information Technology.
• Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities and strategies, as well as the overall insurance marketplace.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or related field, with insurance designations a plus.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant commercial property underwriting experience, with demonstrated skills to support leadership with strategies to support a profitable portfolio.
• Self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills.
• Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
