About the position

The Underwriter - Personal Lines position at Brown & Brown involves evaluating risk factors for insurance applications and negotiating coverage and pricing. This role requires advanced underwriting knowledge and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The underwriter will review new business applications, recommend acceptance or declination of risks, and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Review new business applications to confirm appropriateness for underwriting actions.
• Determine opportunities to operate outside of standard criteria and coordinate negotiations.
• Recommend acceptance or declination of risks based on application data evaluation.
• Review risks for new and renewal business for securities law practice exposure.
• Create and maintain reports, appeals, files, and correspondence as assigned.
• Recommend methods for promotion of policies or improvements to processes.

Requirements

• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• 1 - 3 years experience in a similar position
• Great attention to detail
