About the position

The Underwriter for Public Companies in Financial Lines at AIG is responsible for driving profitable growth by underwriting new and renewal business, focusing on complex risks. This role involves building relationships with brokers, negotiating terms, and expanding the broker network to generate new business. The position emphasizes collaboration with various teams to target desirable accounts and cross-sell opportunities, while also fostering a culture of inclusion and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite a range of new and renewal business in Financial Lines.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers to communicate risk appetite and value proposition.
• Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structures with brokers and clients.
• Generate new business by expanding the broker network and attending broker events.
• Collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines to target desirable accounts.

Requirements

• Proven underwriting experience with knowledge of Financial Lines product offerings.
• Ability to analyze financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Customer and sales-oriented behaviors, including motivation, tenacity, and accountability.
