About the position

The organization is seeking experienced Underwriters to join their dynamic team in Orlando. This role is particularly focused on candidates who possess experience with Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) and Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP). Additionally, candidates with a background in Forensic Underwriting will also be considered. The Underwriter position is crucial for ensuring that loan applications are thoroughly reviewed and processed in accordance with established guidelines and regulations. In this role, the Underwriter will have the authority to approve Automated Underwriting System (AUS) conditions and will be responsible for reviewing loans that have been flagged as 'refer' to provide recommendations. A key aspect of the job involves program identification, ensuring that all corresponding guidelines are adhered to, and validating AUS decisions. This includes a meticulous review of AUS outputs to identify any errors or additional conditions that may be necessary for loan approval. Moreover, the Underwriter will be tasked with reviewing credit reports for accuracy, identifying any potential red flags, and performing calculations related to Debt-to-Income (DTI), income, and assets.
