Underwriting Support Associate - Commercial

About the position

As a Commercial Underwriting Associate at COUNTRY Financial, you will provide essential support to Commercial Underwriters and the agency force, focusing on the administration of commercial lines of business. This role is designed for individuals on a career path to become Underwriters, with responsibilities that include evaluating risk acceptability and processing various policy-related tasks. The position offers a hybrid work schedule based in Bloomington, IL, and emphasizes excellent customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Process new business policies, policy changes, renewals, reinstatements, rewrites, cancellations, and non-renewals for assigned commercial lines business.
• Compile Claims Reconstructions, Subpoenas, and reporting for the Underwriting team.
• Participate in policy clean-ups and corrections, verifying the accuracy of policy information.
• Assist in evaluating risks based on limited underwriting authority and following standard underwriting policies.
• Process mailing address policy changes according to established criteria for all commercial policy types.

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant experience in underwriting or insurance support roles.
• Basic working knowledge of underwriting principles, policies, and coverage.
• Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet established deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, particularly through email.
