About the position

CACI has an exciting and immediate opportunity for a Unified Collaboration Architect and Design Engineer to support the USAF Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This position works at the customer on-site Tier 3 support location at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. Shaw AFB is conveniently located, with a 2-hour drive to Charlotte, NC to the north, Myrtle Beach to the east, and Charleston, SC to the south. This role is ideal for those who want to use their advanced IT skills to support national security, utilizing leading-edge technology to sustain and defend the networks used by Air Force warfighters in the CENTCOM theater. The program offers opportunities for upward and lateral mobility, allowing movement into positions of increased responsibility or lateral shifts across work centers to apply expertise in other disciplines. In this role, you will engineer, design, and implement Unified Communications/Collaboration voice networks, systems, and services, including Cisco Unified Communications Call Manager, Cisco Unity, and related technologies. You will identify and troubleshoot VoIP call-routing and voice/video quality issues, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will troubleshoot escalated issues to identify and repair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, and Voice/Video, analyze metrics to recognize sub-par network performance, and develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents. You will also be required to provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision-makers, develop and review detailed or complex technical documents, and provide on-call support after hours, on weekends, and holidays. There may be a requirement to deploy/travel to OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR to support operations, projects, and training as required, with travel to CONUS locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer, design, and implement Unified Communications/Collaboration voice networks, systems, and services.
  • Identify and troubleshoot VoIP call-routing and voice/video quality issues.
  • Recommend and implement mitigation strategies for identified issues.
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues to identify and repair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, and Voice/Video.
  • Analyze metrics and recognize sub-par network performance.
  • Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents.
  • Provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision-makers.
  • Develop and review detailed or complex technical documents.
  • Provide on-call support after hours, on weekends, and holidays.
  • Deploy/travel to OCONUS locations in the USCENTCOM AOR to support operations, projects, and training as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 or more years' experience; OR 7 or more years' of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience with firewall technologies.
  • Experience and understanding of Microsoft server installation, roles, active directory, storage, performance management, and maintenance.
  • Experience implementing QoS, CAC, and troubleshooting network issues regarding call routing and gateways.
  • Sufficient mastery of the IT profession to act as an on-shift training representative, including Cisco Switches and Routers, and hardware troubleshooting disciplines.
  • Solid working knowledge of basic LAN technologies and OS used on deployed networks.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Completion of additional certifications such as VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) and CCNP (CCNP-Collaboration desired).
  • ITIL Foundation certification within 60 days from start date.
