As a CBRE Union Assistant Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in guiding operations, managing vendors, and overseeing subcontractors to ensure the maintenance and repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. This position is integral to the Engineering and Technical Services job function, where you will be responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on various equipment and systems. Your expertise will help maintain operational efficiency and safety standards within the facility. In this role, you will be expected to follow all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives related to operations and safety. You will manage shift operations, assign work orders, and provide training to coworkers and subcontractors to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively. A key responsibility will be to review monthly tenant service request summaries to identify and rectify recurrent operational problems, thereby enhancing service delivery. You will also develop a preventive maintenance program for machinery and systems, ensuring that all equipment operates within normal parameters. This includes maintaining an inventory of supplies and tools, ordering necessary materials, and scheduling preventive maintenance to minimize business interruptions. In emergency situations, you will respond promptly and may request additional help as needed. Your role will require you to apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop innovative methods for accomplishing departmental objectives. You will be expected to showcase your expertise in your job discipline while also possessing in-depth knowledge of other disciplines within the organization. Coaching others to develop their skills and knowledge will be a part of your responsibilities, as will leading by example and modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values. Additionally, you will impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams. Your work will be guided by functional policies that influence the design of procedures and policies, and you will contribute to new products, processes, standards, and operational plans to support functional goals.
