About the position

As a Building Automation System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operation and maintenance of all building automation systems within our facilities. Your primary objective will be to maximize efficiency while minimizing operational costs. This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, where you will be responsible for supporting, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing various equipment and systems. You will maintain a comprehensive facilities systems management program that encompasses all connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems operational in a facility. You will be expected to adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives regarding system operations and work safety. Regular inspections of systems will be part of your duties to ensure that equipment operates within design capabilities and meets the client's operational conditions. Your responsibilities will also include programming, inspecting, troubleshooting, and adjusting electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems. In case of emergencies, you will respond quickly and summon assistance as needed. Additionally, you will review assigned work orders, estimate time and resources, and order necessary materials to complete repairs. Performing assigned repairs and preventive maintenance will be essential, along with maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records. You will also participate in various programs and activities, including incident investigations and audits, and report any conditions that could lead to accidents or injuries. Your role will require you to mentor others, share your in-depth knowledge, and lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. You will work within broad guidelines and policies, explaining complex information as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a total facilities systems management program, including all connected and separate electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems.
  • Follow all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives regarding system operations and work safety.
  • Inspect systems to ensure equipment operation is within design capabilities and achieves the client's prescribed operational conditions.
  • Program, inspect, troubleshoot, and adjust electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and related information systems.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies, summoning assistance as needed.
  • Review assigned work orders, estimate time and resources, and order vital materials to finish repairs.
  • Perform assigned repairs and emergency and preventive maintenance, completing maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Finish required and assigned training at a satisfactory level.
  • Participate in all related programs & activities, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment.
  • Report any conditions that could result in an accident or injury and stop work if required.
  • Mentor others and share in-depth knowledge of their own job discipline and broad understanding of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Licenses or certifications as may be required by local applicable law or ordinance are preferred.
  • Prior shift leader or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new point of view on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive approach.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
