About the position

The Unit Deployment Manager is responsible for ensuring that assigned personnel are qualified and ready to meet Air Expeditionary Force requirements. This role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing all unit-level deployment activities, ensuring personnel and equipment readiness for wartime and peacetime mobility taskings.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and oversee all unit level deployment activities.
  • Perform analysis activities related to deployment operations.
  • Establish metrics and system analysis for unit and higher-level management.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding the unit deployment program.
  • Ensure personnel and equipment readiness for deployment.
  • Schedule and track unit deployment training.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service (for males).
  • Completion of mandatory UDM training is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance is necessary.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and precedents affecting deployment operations is essential.
  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • Knowledge of federal planning policy and guidance.
