About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to function as the Unit Deployment Manager, ensuring that assigned personnel are qualified and ready to meet Air Expeditionary Force requirements. This role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing all unit-level deployment activities, maintaining functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs), and providing technical guidance to senior leadership regarding unit deployment programs.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or equivalent, including knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies affecting deployment operations.
  • Experience in administrative processes and documentation requirements to ensure deployment readiness.
  • Ability to adapt analytical techniques and evaluation criteria for deployment program improvement.
  • Experience in preparing reports and organizing briefings regarding deployment operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
  • Combination of experience and education that includes at least one year of progressively higher level graduate education.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities.
  • Configures and maintains functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM FAMs using available unit assets.
  • Performs analysis activities to assess deployment efficiency and compliance with regulatory procedures.
  • Establishes metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher level management.
  • Analyzes the combat capability of the unit through evaluation of training, equipment status, manning, and supervision.
  • Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment programs.
  • Advises the commander on the management and operation of all aspects of unit deployment capabilities.
  • Ensures personnel and equipment readiness for wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training.
