About the position

The Unit Manager Outside Property at Travelers Insurance is responsible for overseeing a team of Outside Property claim professionals, ensuring product quality and performance. This role involves managing staff, providing guidance, and implementing strategies for talent development and effective claim handling. The position is remote, requiring the candidate to reside in or near the designated territories.

Responsibilities

• Proactively recruit and develop talent for the team.
• Manage staff performance and implement development strategies.
• Provide effective orientation and onboarding for new hires.
• Conduct quality file reviews and provide coaching to claim professionals.
• Develop and execute strategic file management plans for optimal resolution.
• Leverage data and technology to support business strategies and improve results.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and business partners.
• Participate in business meetings and agency visits as required.
• Ensure compliance with insurance licensing requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of three years claim work experience in at least one line of business required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Claim management experience preferred.
