About the position

The Unit Manager (RN or LPN) position at the Jewish HealthCare Center is a vital role within our Skilled Nursing Facility's Long Term Care Unit. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the provision of nursing services to ensure that the total nursing needs of all residents on the assigned unit are met. The Unit Manager will have 24-hour responsibility for the assigned unit, ensuring that high-quality care is delivered consistently. This role requires a commitment to excellence in customer service, as the Unit Manager will interact with residents, families, and staff to foster a positive and supportive environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, delegating nursing tasks effectively to licensed nurses and nursing assistants on the unit. This position is scheduled for Monday through Friday during the day, with on-call responsibilities for weekends and holidays as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the provision of nursing services to meet the total nursing needs of all residents on the assigned unit.
  • Maintain 24-hour responsibility for the assigned unit.
  • Delegate nursing tasks to licensed nurses and nursing assistants on the unit.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to residents and their families.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and wellness standards for all patients.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment among staff.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience in long term care or skilled nursing experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in nursing management.
  • Current RN or LPN license.
  • BLS Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospice services or Alzheimer's care.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and on-call as needed.
