About the position

The Unit Operations Coordinator at Children's Minnesota plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to families, staff, providers, and visitors. This position involves answering inquiries, problem-solving, and ensuring a welcoming environment. The coordinator acts as a liaison between departments, supports patient care, and provides administrative assistance, while also serving as a technology resource for the unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary customer service to families, staff, providers, and visitors in-person and by phone.
  • Answer questions promptly and accurately, and problem-solve as needed.
  • Respond to phone calls that come into the units and arrange for deliveries to patient rooms.
  • Direct visitors to their destinations and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
  • Support patient care on the unit and provide overall administrative support.
  • Act as a technology resource for the unit and coach others on hospital technology systems.
  • Float to other hospital departments as needed based on demand.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a patient care setting preferred.
  • Outstanding professional and positive customer service skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Competent with basic medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to multitask.
