About the position

Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States, dedicated exclusively to providing care for children from before birth through young adulthood. As an independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children's Minnesota serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest with two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics, and seven rehabilitation sites. The organization is recognized as a leader in pediatric healthcare, consistently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children's hospital. The Unit Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in the pre-procedure assessment center, which is a team of nurses that prepares patients and families for anesthesia prior to hospital arrival. This preparation involves reviewing patient medical records, engaging in conversations with parents, and utilizing various digital health platforms as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. The goal is to ensure comprehensive preparation, reduce risks associated with anesthesia, and minimize delays or cancellations of surgical procedures. In this position, the Unit Operations Coordinator serves as a pivotal front-line individual, providing exemplary customer service to families, staff, providers, and visitors, both in-person and over the phone. Responsibilities include answering inquiries promptly and accurately, problem-solving as needed, managing phone calls, arranging deliveries to patient rooms, directing visitors, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. This role is essential in supporting patient care on the unit and providing overall administrative support. The Unit Operations Coordinator also acts as a technology resource for the unit, ensuring that staff have the necessary tools to perform their jobs effectively. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
