The position involves performing clerical services and tasks for a specific unit in healthcare facilities, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries from patients/residents, outlying facilities or providers about healthcare programs and services or requests for transferring patients into a facility. Depending on the department, the role may provide support to RN or physician staff or receive and dispatch correspondence for the designated unit. Additional responsibilities include assisting with administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies and scheduling, and collaborating to create and maintain a clean environment within healthcare facilities. Direct patient contact will vary based on the department, and primary duties will vary accordingly.
